Why Sunbrella performs in the Gulf

Fade-proof colour. Sunbrella is 100% solution-dyed acrylic: the pigment is locked inside the fibre itself, not printed on top. Dubai’s UV — which destroys ordinary fabric in months — cannot strip colour that goes all the way through the strand.

Cool and breathable. Unlike vinyl, acrylic fabric does not turn into a hotplate in the sun, and it breathes, so cushions dry quickly and stay comfortable in summer.

Genuinely cleanable. Sunbrella can be cleaned with a diluted bleach solution without losing colour — sunscreen, kids’ juice and mould stains all come out. Few fabrics tolerate bleach; this is Sunbrella’s party trick.

Warranted in writing. Sunbrella fabrics carry a multi-year limited manufacturer warranty against loss of colour or strength from normal exposure — 5 years for upholstery collections and 10 years for shade and marine collections. Sunbrella vs “Sunbrella-type” fabric

Dubai is full of shops selling cheap “outdoor acrylic” as if it were equivalent. It is not. Look-alike fabrics are often yarn-dyed or blended with polyester, fade unevenly within a couple of seasons, and carry no meaningful warranty. Genuine Sunbrella is identifiable by its branded selvedge and comes with the manufacturer’s warranty — we are happy to show you the roll before we cut.

Is Sunbrella waterproof?

It is highly water-repellent and fast-drying rather than rubber-waterproof — which is what you want for seating, because it stays breathable and comfortable. For fully waterproof covers we also carry coated marine fabrics.

How do I clean Sunbrella?

Brush off dirt, wash with mild soap and water; for stubborn stains or mould, a diluted bleach solution is safe on genuine Sunbrella.

Is Sunbrella good for indoor sofas too?
