Outdoor Fabrics in Dubai That Survive the Summer

Toscana teak outdoor sofa with outdoor fabric cushions by Adams Furniture in Dubai

Most outdoor fabric sold in Dubai fails within a single season. The UV index here is among the highest in the world, summer surface temperatures exceed 45°C, and coastal humidity breeds mould in anything that holds moisture. Ordinary printed polyester fades to grey, goes brittle, and tears at the seams — usually just after the warranty expires.

At Adams Furniture we manufacture and upholster outdoor furniture in Dubai, so we only work with fabrics we are willing to stand behind: solution-dyed acrylics and high-performance weaves from brands like Sunbrella®, engineered to keep their colour and strength through years of Gulf sun. Whether you need new outdoor cushions for a villa terrace, re-upholstery for restaurant seating, or fabric by the metre for your own project, you can see and touch every option in our showroom.

Why solution-dyed fabric is the only kind worth buying in the UAE

In ordinary fabric, colour is printed or dip-dyed onto the surface of the fibre — and Dubai’s sun strips it off. In solution-dyed fabric, pigment is added to the liquid acrylic before the fibre is extruded, so the colour runs through the entire strand like a carrot, not a radish. It cannot be bleached out by UV, and because the fibre itself repels water, mould and mildew have nothing to feed on. This is the technology behind Sunbrella and every serious marine and outdoor fabric.

High performance sofa fabrics: heavy-duty upholstery graded for tens of thousands of abrasion cycles, for sofas that look new for a decade. See performance sofa fabrics.

Fabric by the metre, cushions, or full re-upholstery

We supply outdoor fabric three ways: cut lengths by the metre from our swatch library; made-to-measure outdoor cushions sewn in our own Dubai workshop; and complete re-upholstery of your existing outdoor furniture — frames restrung, foam replaced with quick-dry outdoor foam, and covers sewn in the fabric of your choice. Trade enquiries from interior designers, landscapers and hotels are welcome.

Frequently asked questions

Which outdoor fabric lasts longest in Dubai?

Solution-dyed acrylic — Sunbrella being the benchmark — consistently outlasts everything else in direct Gulf sun. With basic care it keeps its colour for many years outdoors, where printed polyester typically fades within one or two seasons.

Is outdoor fabric waterproof?

Solution-dyed acrylics are highly water-repellent and dry fast; marine vinyls are fully waterproof. For cushions, the foam matters as much as the fabric — we use quick-dry outdoor foam so cushions do not stay soggy after rain or pool splashes.

Can you re-cover my existing outdoor furniture?

Yes. Re-upholstery of existing outdoor sofas, loungers and dining chairs is one of our core services, including frame repair and new outdoor foam.

Do you sell outdoor fabric by the metre?

Yes — visit our showroom to browse swatch books, or send us a photo of your project and we will recommend options with pricing. Call or WhatsApp Adams Furniture on +971 4 529 9742, or visit our Dubai showroom to see and touch every fabric before you decide.
