A walk-in wardrobe is one of the most requested joinery features in Dubai villa renovations. Whether you are converting a spare bedroom, using a corridor space, or building a dressing room off the master suite, the right walk-in wardrobe design transforms how you live in the home.

At Adams Furniture in Dubai, we design and build bespoke walk-in wardrobes and fitted wardrobes for villas and apartments across the UAE. Here are the ideas and layouts our clients use most.
The U-shape layout: the classic walk-in wardrobe
The U-shape layout lines three walls of the room with storage — one long hanging rail on each side wall and shelving or drawers on the back wall. This is the most storage-efficient layout and works well in rooms from 2.5m x 2m upwards.
In Dubai villas, we typically see a full-length hanging section on one side (for dresses, suits and long coats), a half-height double hanging section on the other (for shirts, jackets and folded items), and a central island unit with drawers if the room is wide enough.
The L-shape layout: for awkward spaces
L-shape layouts work well when the room has a window, a bathroom door, or another architectural feature that prevents one wall from being used for full-height joinery. Storage runs along two adjacent walls and the remaining walls are left open or used for a seating bench or mirror.
The single-wall layout: for narrow spaces
A single wall of floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobes can be very effective in a narrow room or corridor. The key is to maximise the storage zones: a mix of full-length hanging, short hanging, shelving, drawers, and pull-out accessories makes a single wall feel complete and functional.
Materials and finishes for Dubai walk-in wardrobes
The most popular finishes we see in Dubai right now are: painted lacquer in off-white or warm greige (for a clean, contemporary look); natural oak veneer (for warmth and texture); fluted oak panels on the wardrobe doors (a current trend for luxury villas); and mirror panels integrated into the cabinetry (highly practical and makes the space feel larger).
Internal fittings are typically in a warm white or light grey melamine for practicality and durability in Dubai's climate.
Lighting in a Dubai walk-in wardrobe
Lighting is the most overlooked element in wardrobe design. We recommend three types: LED strip lighting inside each zone (under shelves and inside hanging sections so you can see exactly what you are choosing); a central ceiling light for ambient illumination; and a full-length mirror with integrated side lighting for dressing.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a walk-in wardrobe cost in Dubai?
A fully fitted walk-in wardrobe for a medium-sized room (approximately 3m x 3m) typically ranges from AED 15,000 to AED 35,000 depending on the finish, materials, and internal fittings. Contact us for a detailed quote based on your room dimensions.
How long does it take to build a fitted wardrobe in Dubai?
From design approval to installation, a typical walk-in wardrobe project takes 3 to 5 weeks. This includes the design sign-off, manufacturing in our Dubai workshop, and installation.
Can a walk-in wardrobe be added to any bedroom?
Yes, provided there is enough floor area. As a guide, a workable walk-in wardrobe needs a minimum of 2m x 1.8m of clear floor space. Smaller spaces can work with clever single-wall or L-shape layouts. We can assess any space and suggest the best layout during a free site visit.
Do you design and install walk-in wardrobes across the UAE?
Yes. We design and install fitted wardrobes across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the wider UAE. Contact us to arrange a consultation.
