Beach Umbrellas in Dubai: Resort Parasols, Sand Anchors and the Right Fabric
The cheap pop-up beach umbrella you carry to Kite Beach is not what a hotel, beach club or beachfront villa needs. Commercial beach umbrellas in Dubai have to stand in sand for a full season, shrug off salt spray and a 50 km/h gust, and still look good in the brochure photo. Here is what we supply and why.
The two beach umbrella designs we use
Aluminium beach umbrella with teak ribs. Our standard resort beach umbrella: a rust-free aluminium mast with teak ribs, around 2.5 m across, light enough for staff to reposition and heavy enough to stay put in a sand anchor. Ideal for villa beachfronts and beach clubs.
Teak centre pole umbrellas. Classic Teak, Rope Teak and Balinese models for a resort or Balinese look beside loungers. See all centre pole umbrellas.
Cantilever umbrellas are rarely the right choice on sand because the offset base needs a hard, level surface. On a beachfront deck or boardwalk, however, a cantilever umbrella over a daybed works well.
Anchoring in sand
A beach umbrella is only as good as its anchor. We use screw-type sand anchors for loose sand and sleeve sockets set in concrete for fixed lounger rows at hotels. Both keep the mast vertical in wind and let staff lift the umbrella out at night. Weighted bases are a poor option on sand; they tip and sink.
Frame and canopy for salt air
Salt spray attacks steel and most paints within months. Aluminium and teak are the only two frame materials we recommend on the beach. For canopies, solution-dyed acrylic holds its colour under Dubai UV and dries quickly; standard canopies are ecru beige, with custom colours and logo printing for beach clubs and hotels.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best beach umbrella for Dubai?
A commercial centre pole umbrella with an aluminium or teak frame and a solution-dyed acrylic canopy, set in a screw sand anchor or a concrete sleeve socket. Pop-up polyester umbrellas fade and bend within a season.
How do you anchor a beach umbrella in sand?
Screw-type sand anchors for loose sand, or sleeve sockets cast into concrete for fixed hotel lounger rows. Weighted bases tip and sink on sand.
Will salt air rust the umbrella?
Not with an aluminium or teak frame. Steel and painted frames corrode quickly on Dubai beaches.
Can I put my beach club logo on the canopy?
Yes. Custom-made canopies with logo printing are available on all our centre pole and beach umbrellas.
How much do beach umbrellas cost in Dubai?
Balinese umbrellas from AED 1,800, teak centre poles AED 2,500 to 2,700, and aluminium-teak beach umbrellas quoted by quantity for hotels and beach clubs.
