What decides the price

Size and shape. Labour is most of the cost, and a corner sofa has three to four times the seams of an armchair. Curved backs, deep buttoning and piping add hours.
Fabric. Metres needed times price per metre. A 3-seater takes roughly 12 to 16 metres; a plain cotton might be AED 60 a metre, a designer velvet AED 300 or more. Our fabric guide explains the choices and the Martindale rub count tells you what will last.
Foam and fillings. If seat cushions have collapsed, new high-density foam or feather-wrapped foam is added to the quote. On a sofa over ten years old this is usually worth doing at the same time.
Frame and springs. Re-webbing or re-tying springs is a small extra on a sound hardwood frame. If the frame itself is cracked particleboard, we will tell you it is not worth reupholstering.
Extras. Scatter cushions, new legs, contrast piping, or converting fixed seats to loose cushions are all quoted separately.

Reupholster or buy new?

The rule of thumb: if the sofa has a hardwood frame and you like its shape, reupholstery at AED 3,500 to 7,000 beats replacing it, because an equivalent new sofa with the same frame quality costs AED 8,000 to 20,000. If it is a mass-market sofa with a soft frame that cost under AED 3,000 new, replacing it is usually the better buy. Cheaper alternatives
