Henley fluted walnut chest of drawers
The Henley is a low, wide six-drawer chest of drawers in solid American walnut, with fine half-round fluting running across the drawer fronts and wrapping around both sides. The fluting is cut from the solid, not applied, so the ribs line up perfectly from drawer to drawer and catch the light the way only real wood can. At 180 cm wide it is sized to sit under a window, beneath a television, or along a bedroom wall as a dresser with a mirror above.
The top is a single plane of book-matched walnut with softly rounded front corners that echo the fluted ends. Six deep drawers give generous storage for clothing, bedding or linen, and the small antique-brass T-bar pulls sit flush enough not to interrupt the rhythm of the ribs. The whole piece rests on a recessed plinth so it appears to float just above the floor.
Why solid American walnut
American black walnut is the darkest of the temperate hardwoods and the one most prized for fine furniture. Its colour runs from warm chocolate to a lighter honey sapwood, and it ages to a mellow amber rather than fading. We use kiln-dried FAS-grade boards and finish them with a natural hardwax oil, so the grain stays open to the touch and any mark can be spot-repaired rather than refinished. Walnut is also stable in Dubai's air-conditioned interiors, which matters for a piece with this much fluting.

Every Henley is built to order in our Al Quoz workshop. The standard size is 180 × 45 × 85 cm, but the design scales well: a 120 cm four-drawer version works as a tall bedside or hall chest, and a 240 cm eight-drawer version suits a dressing room or a long living-room wall. We can match the fluting on a nightstand, bed headboard, wardrobe doors or media console so the whole room reads as one collection. Send us a room photo or a drawing and we will quote within a day.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Henley a chest of drawers or a dresser? Both. In the UK it is a wide chest of drawers; in the US the same low, wide six-drawer piece is called a dresser. It works as a bedroom dresser, a sideboard or a media unit.
Is it real solid wood or veneer? Solid American black walnut throughout: top, carcass, drawer fronts, fluted ends and plinth. The only non-walnut parts are the brass pulls and the drawer runners.
What are the exact dimensions? 180 cm wide, 45 cm deep and 85 cm high, with six drawers arranged in two columns of three. Each drawer front is roughly 88 cm wide and 24 cm high.
Can I change the size or number of drawers? Yes. Any width, depth or height can be made, and the design has been built with four, six and eight drawers. Price changes in proportion to the timber used.
How much does a fluted walnut chest of drawers cost in Dubai? The Henley is AED 12,500 at the standard 180 cm size, including delivery and installation across the UAE. Smaller versions start from around AED 8,500 and larger ones from AED 16,000.
How long does it take? Six weeks from confirmed order to delivery. If you have a move-in date, tell us and we will plan the build around it.
Can it be made in oak instead of walnut? Yes. The same design is available in solid oak, white oak, ash or stained walnut. Oak versions are a little lower in price.
How do I look after fluted wood furniture? Dust along the direction of the flutes with a soft brush or dry cloth, wipe spills straight away and re-oil once a year with a natural hardwax oil. Avoid silicone sprays and keep it out of direct sunlight.
Do you deliver outside Dubai? Yes. Delivery and installation are free across the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Al Ain. We also ship to the GCC on request.
Where can I see it before I order? At our showroom and workshop in Al Quoz 3, Dubai, open daily. Message us on WhatsApp first and we will have the walnut samples and this piece, or a sibling from the same fluted collection, ready for you.
